Over 30 years ago, my wife and I built our first home in a large, growing neighborhood. At the time, the internet was just beginning to take shape, and someone in the community took the initiative to create a paper directory to help neighbors stay connected. As more families moved in, that directory grew—version by version—and became a trusted, well-used resource in almost every household.
Fast forward to today: like many of you, we’re beginning a new chapter in this 55+ community. While the tools have changed—nobody prints directories anymore—the need for connection hasn’t. This site is my way of trying to recreate that same spirit of neighborliness, using modern tools to help us get to know one another, stay informed, and support each other as we settle into this new phase of life.
I’ve been working with computers since 1980 and hold a degree in computer science. While my career eventually shifted toward IT management, I’ve always tried to stay close to the technical side. With the rise of AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude, I’ve recently found new ways to rekindle those skills and put them to use.
This site is simply a small effort to help build the kind of community we once enjoyed—and to do it in a way that fits the world we live in now.
